8 year old girl suffers ‘life-changing injury’ while on holiday
8 year old Heidi-Ray was playing on a slide at the Oludeniz resort in Turkey when she fell off onto a picket fence at the bottom. She was immediately taken to hospital where after two weeks of treatment her kidney was removed.
Once returning to the UK, Heidi-Ray had to undertake specialist renal treatment before being given the all clear. However, she is no longer able to take part in her favorite activities.
Her mother, Sarah Noble Steeples said, “Failing from that slide changed her life forever. It could all have been prevented had the resort taken more care with the layout of its play area”. She added, “We want to make sure somebody takes responsibility for Heidi’s fall, there is no excuse for an eight year old having to go through this pain”.
A spokesperson for Thomas Cook said, “We were naturally very concerned to hear about Miss Noble Steeples’ accident while on holiday with us. As we are in the process of liaising directly with the family’s legal representative in relation to this, we are unable to provide any further comment at this time’.
